Aldon Automotive Performance Distributors - Chrysler Talbot 1600 109TY with Contact Breaker Ignition: For car enthusiasts who have upgraded their engines with different camshaft profiles and twin sidedraught carburettors, the standard distributor unit may no longer provide an optimal ignition curve. This can lead to a loss in power and drivability. Aldon performance distributors are designed specifically for such applications and have been dyno developed to match the correct ignition advance curve for various engine tunes. They offer several options, including mechanical advance for engines using twin sidedraught carburettors, as well as Ignitor electronic ignition for improved reliability and more consistent ignition triggering. Applications: - BMC 'A' Series: 100AY - Non-vacuum distributor suitable for most tuned engines with camshafts like Piper 270/285, Kent 266/276 and 286. - 100AYV - Vacuum advance version (use 100AY for engines with compression ratios below 10:1). - 100AYS - Identical to 100AY but with the distributor cap having H.T. leads coming out of the side, required for Sprite/Midget applications. - 100AYSV - Vacuum advance version and distributor cap with H.T. leads coming out of the side (for Sprite/Midgets). - 100AYP - Later type drive dog version to suit 'A' plus blocks in the Metro. - 100AR - Non-vacuum distributor for rally and race tuned engines with camshafts like 649, sprint or supersprint types. - 100ARS - Identical to 100AR but with side draught carburettor and distributor cap with H.T. leads coming out of the side. - 100ARP - Later type drive dog version for 'A' plus blocks in the Metro. - BMC 'B' Series: - 101BY1 - Vacuum advance distributor designed to replace the original unit on standard MGBs and Marinas TCs with HS4 SU Carburettors. Note that later versions of these cars have vacuum advance pipes connected to the inlet manifold, use 101BY2 for those applications. - 101BY1S - Identical to 101BY1 but with distributor cap having H.T. leads coming out of the side for early MGBs with limited steering column clearance. - 101BY2 - Vacuum advance distributor suitable for standard MGBs and Marinas TCs with HIF4 SU carburettors, improving driveability while retaining 'run-on' resistance. - 101BR1 - Non-vacuum distributor for tuned 'B' series engines using camshafts such as 714, 715, Piper 270/285 and a side draught carburettor. - 101BR1S - Identical to 101BR1 but with distributor cap having H.T. leads coming out of the side for clearance reasons on some MGBs. - 101BR2 - Vacuum advance distributor suitable for road tuned 'B' series engines with camshafts like 714, 864 and retaining the SU carburettors. - Ford X/Flow: - 103FX1 - Non-vacuum distributor for X/Flow engines with side draught carburettors but retaining standard 'GT' camshafts. - 103FX1S - Identical to 103FX1 but with distributor cap having H.T. leads coming out of the side for engines with paired side draught carburettors (fitted to 1100 and 1300 models). - 103FXY - Non-vacuum distributor suitable for most tuned X/Flow engines using camshafts such as A2, BCF1, Piper 270/285, Kent 234, 244 and with side draught carburettors. - 103FXYV - Vacuum distributor version for some X/Flow engines with a twin choke down draught carburettor (not recommended when using side draught carburettors). - 103FXYS - Identical to 103FXY but with distributor cap having H.T. leads coming out of the side for engines with paired side draught carburettors. - 103FXYSI - Identical to 103FXYS but fitted with Aldon Ignitor electronic ignition system instead of points. - 103FXR - Distributor for race specification X/Flow engines (engine specifications required). - 103FXRS - Identical to 103FXR but with distributor cap having H.T. leads coming out of the side. - Ford 'B' Series: 103TC - A non-vacuum distributor suitable for most twin cam engines from standard to virtually full race. - Ford OHC (Pinto) All Bosch Units: - 104FPY - Non-vacuum distributor for engines with side draught carburettors and retaining standard camshafts. - 104FPR1 - Non-vacuum distributor for engines with modified camshafts such as Piper 270, 285 and fitted with a side draught carburettor. - 104FPR2 - Vacuum advance distributor suitable for engines with twin choke down draught carburettors and modified camshafts. - Ford V6 (Essex Type): 105FV1 - Non-vacuum distributor suitable for most tuned V6 engines with modified camshafts such as Piper 270, 285. - 105FV1S - Identical to 105FV1 but with distributor cap having H.T. leads coming out of the side for engines with paired side draught carburettors (limited fitment due to block modification). - 105FVY - Non-vacuum distributor suitable for most tuned V6 engines with camshafts like A2, BCF1, Piper 270, 285, Kent 234, 244 and with side draught carburettors. - 105FVYV - Vacuum distributor version for some V6 engines with twin choke down draught carburettors. - 105FVYS - Identical to 105FVY but with distributor cap having H.T. leads coming out of the side for engines with paired side draught carburettors (limited fitment due to block modification). - 105FVR - A distributor for race specification V6 engines, full details of engine specifications required. - 105FVRS - Identical to 105FVR but with distributor cap having H.T. leads coming out of the side.
