Aldon Automotive Performance Distributors - BMC B Series (101BR1S) with Contact Breaker Ignition:

Designed for use in vehicles with tuned engines that feature different camshaft profiles and often twin side-draught carburettors, the standard distributor unit may no longer provide an appropriate ignition curve, resulting in a loss of power and drivability. Aldon performance distributors are engineered from new Lucas or Bosch units and have been dynamically tested to offer the correct ignition advance curve for various engine tunes. These distributors are available with either mechanical advance for engines using twin side-draught carburettors, or with the optional Ignitor electronic ignition system for improved reliability and consistent ignition triggering.

BMC 'B' Series 101BY1:

A vacuum advance distributor designed for use in standard MGBs and Marina TCs equipped with HS4 SU carburettors. For later versions of these cars where the vacuum advance pipe is connected to the inlet manifold, use 101BY2.

BMC 'B' Series 101BY1S:

Identical to 101BY1 but fitted with a distributor cap that has the H.T. leads coming out of the side instead of the top, necessary for some pre-rubber MGBs where H.T. leads may foul on the steering column.

BMC 'B' Series 101BY2:

A vacuum advance distributor suitable for standard MGBs and Marina TCs with HIF4 SU carburettors, improving driveability while retaining resistance to 'run-on'.

BMC 'B' Series 101BR1:

A non-vacuum distributor suited for tuned B-series engines using camshafts such as 714, 715, Piper 270, and 285, and fitted with a side-draught carburettor.

BMC 'B' Series 101BR1S:

Identical to 101BR1 but with a distributor cap that has the H.T. leads coming out of the side instead of the top, necessary for some applications where H.T. leads may foul on the steering column.

BMC 'B' Series 101BR2:

A vacuum advance distributor for road-tuned B-series engines with camshafts including 714, 864, Piper 270, and 285, retaining the SU carburettors.
