Mocal Oil Coolers - Standard Duty 34 Row 235mm Matrix 1/2 NPT Female Fittings These oil coolers are a vital addition to any high-performance engine that's regularly pushed to its limits. Engines that operate at elevated RPM levels can easily overheat, causing the oil to thin down and lose its protective properties, leading to premature wear. Pressed plate-type oil cooler radiators have been a popular choice in both road-going performance vehicles and racing machines for decades, thanks to their versatility and suitability for various engine types. Positioning The coolers are strategically placed where air can pass through them (usually at the front of the vehicle, near the radiator) as it's this airflow that effectively cools the oil flowing through the oilways within the cooler. Oil is supplied to the cooler via pipes that connect to the engine, typically via a sandwich plate that fits between the engine and the oil filter. Size Variations Mocal offers two matrix width options for these oil coolers: 115mm and 235mm. The dimensions including the brackets are 210mm and 330mm, respectively. The height of the cooler is measured in rows; this refers to the number of oilways, including both the top and bottom plates. More rows result in enhanced cooling performance. Mocal Oil Cooler Models All Mocal oil coolers are available in standard or heavy-duty versions. Standard duty coolers can withstand a maximum working pressure of 150 Psi. The heavy-duty variants boast an increased working pressure of 180 Psi and feature thicker material and aluminium castings between the plates to enhance strength and reliability for motorsport applications.
