Designed specifically for high-revving engines, these oil coolers prevent the oil from overheating, preserving its viscosity and offering optimal protection to vital engine components. Constructed using robust pressed plates, Mocal oil coolers have been a popular choice for performance vehicles for decades. They are available in an extensive range of sizes to suit various engine types.Positioning: Proper placement is crucial for effective cooling. The coolers should be situated where there is sufficient airflow (typically at the front of the vehicle, near the radiator), as this airflow facilitates the cooling process by allowing it to pass through the oilways within the cooler. Oil is supplied via pipes that connect to the engine, often via a sandwich plate positioned between the engine and the oil filter.Size Variations: Mocal offers two matrix widths for these oil coolers - 115mm and 235mm. The overall dimensions, including brackets, are 210mm and 330mm, respectively. The height of the cooler is measured by the number of rows of oilways, including top and bottom plates. The larger the number of rows, the more effective the cooling will be.Different Versions: Mocal oil coolers are available in both standard and heavy-duty versions. Standard duty coolers have a working pressure of 150 Psi, while heavy duty coolers can withstand up to 180 Psi, featuring thicker materials and aluminium castings between the plates for added strength and durability in motorsport applications.
