The AIM Motorsport EVO4S Data Logger with GPS09 Module is a cutting-edge device, representing an advancement from its predecessor, the EVO4. Despite retaining the same connection logic - one connector per channel - it boasts a fully redesigned internal electronic board and complete compatibility with the latest generation of AIM dash/logger systems. It also enables real-time data visualisation when paired with compatible devices such as GS-Dash or Formula 3 steering wheels. This data logger features versatility in terms of connectivity, offering a choice between ECU connections: RS232, OBDII, or CAN, depending on whether you wish to link directly to the vehicle's ECU via the OBDII port or through a direct CAN connection. The device is equipped to collect data from an extensive range of sources, including engine control units (ECUs) via CAN, RS232, or K-line, internal accelerometer and gyro, and the GPS09 module for precise lap time calculations. The GPS09 module comes with various cable options: 0.5, 1.3, 2.0, or 4.0m, or a "Roof" version with 2.0 or 4.0m cable designed for easy installation on covered cars or motorcycle fairings. Furthermore, specific connection/installation kits are available for many sports bikes. The EVO4S includes five analogue channels, each configurable for 12-bit, 0-5 Volt, 0-500 mV, or 0-50 mV inputs, enabling the monitoring of temperature, pressure, suspension, and other sensor data. It also features two speed inputs to analyse wheel behaviour. An integrated three-axial accelerometer and gyro sensor offer comprehensive insights into oversteering, understeering, banking, and more. The device offers a 1 amp at 12 volts digital output for configurable on/off control based on analogue or digital inputs, ECU values, expansion values, or GPS information. Additionally, it provides CAN output capabilities to send messages directly to an existing CAN network, expanding the scope of vehicle control possibilities. Data analysis is facilitated by Race Studio Analysis 3 software, which offers graphical representations, histograms, and tables for evaluating performance and identifying opportunities for improvement in driving technique. The EVO4S can be further enhanced with optional expansion modules via the built-in CAN bus, including Channel Expansion for four additional 0-5Volt analogue channels, TC Hub for up to four "K" type thermocouple temperature sensors, and LCU-One Wide Band Lambda Controller for precise Air/Fuel data and exhaust gas temperature measurement. Please note that when using more than one expansion module, the AIM Data Hub (CAN multiplier) will be required to accommodate additional CAN inputs. Lastly, the EVO4S does not support connection with MXL Dash Display, GT Steering Wheel, Formula Steering Wheel (2), or G-Dash; for these older displays, please use the EVO4 data logger instead.
