The Michelin Collection TRX (220/55 R365 88W) is a pioneering product that has revolutionized the world of tyres. The introduction of TRX in 1975 marked a significant milestone, allowing for an even distribution of tension throughout the tyre casing. This innovative design earned its name "Tension Repartie" or "distributed tension". The TRX gained recognition in Formula 1 racing with Renault and Prost, as well as in the World Rally Championship on the Audi Quattro, 205 Turbo 16, and R5 Turbo. For the first time, the tyre and rim worked seamlessly together, complementing each other perfectly. The rim underwent a fundamental transformation, featuring a flatter and lower flange design. This new design resulted in a gradual curvature of the casing, eliminating the traditional 'S' shaped flexing inherent in earlier designs. Thanks to this groundbreaking construction, the TRX tyre offers exceptional directional stability and makes a significant contribution to active safety, particularly when cornering close to the limit.
