Design Engineering Gen 3 Onyx Turbo Heat Shield - Shield Only To Fit Garrett T6 Turbo

The Design Engineering Gen 3 Onyx turbo heat shield has been crafted to be the most effective turbo shield on the market. Its innovative 4-layer construction enables it to withstand radiant heat up to 2500°F (1371°C) and direct heat up to 1800°F (982°C). This shield is specifically designed for Garrett T6 turbos, ensuring a precise fit and optimal heat management. The Gen 3 Onyx turbo heat shields offer unparalleled performance, reducing under bonnet temperatures and protecting ancillaries from heat damage. By keeping the hot side hotter, it increases gas flow and turbo efficiency. Moreover, it reduces air intake temperatures by lowering the ambient temperature beneath the hood. The shield's construction is divided into four layers. The innermost layer is a stainless steel fabric designed to cope with extreme temperatures without becoming brittle. The second layer is a blend of glass fibre, stainless steel, and silicone, which adds strength and additional insulation. The third layer features thick silica insulation, characterized by low thermal conductivity, keeping the heat within the turbo. The outer layer is made from Onyx material with LR technology coated in silicone, ensuring added strength and resilience to withstand harsh environments. This shield is available as a standalone product or as part of a kit that includes a 2" x 15ft roll of black titanium exhaust wrap, two 20" long stainless locking ties, and a 5ft length of fastening wire.
