The AEM Electronics Water/Methanol HD Controller Kit is a robust solution designed to replace or upgrade your existing water/methanol system for optimal performance. Suitable for both forced induction and naturally aspirated applications, the kit offers two types of controller options depending on air pressure/air flow sensing requirements and engine specifications. The HD boost dependent controller is built for durability, featuring internal MAP sensing up to a maximum of 40 PSI for heavy-duty diesel engines. It includes a wiring harness with a positive-lock connector, colour-coded wires for easy installation, an integrated pump ground circuit, and an additional wire for an optional on/off fluid solenoid. Its boost-dependent, progressive design injects water/methanol proportionally to the detected boost level, making it suitable for high-performance diesel engines. Alternatively, the multi-input controller allows external MAP or MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensing options, providing greater flexibility for custom and ultra-high-boost applications above 35 PSI for petrol and diesel engines. It also features a wiring harness with a positive-lock connector, an integrated pump ground circuit, and an additional wire for the optional on/off fluid solenoid. This controller's progressive design injects water/methanol based on reference signals from 0-5V voltage or frequency inputs. Both controllers are designed with large, turn-resistant knobs and larger numbering for easy setting of accurate start and full activation points. They also have covered status LEDs and test buttons for added splash resistance, integrated positive-lock socket/connectors, and an easily accessible integrated fuse and moulded mounting tabs. The AEM Water/Methanol injection system offers significant benefits to high-performance engines by reducing air inlet charge temperatures - up to 100 degrees in some applications - increasing anti-knock index, allowing reliable boost pressure increases, and advanced ignition timing without the need for high octane racing fuels. It also reduces carbon deposit build-up and potentially improves fuel economy due to the "steam-cleaning" effect of burning a water/methanol mix. AEM's integrated "Boost Safe" feature ensures failsafe operation by monitoring the entire injection system and triggering a ground signal if it detects voltage-related errors, such as shorts, bad connections, broken wires, overheated pumps, or high/low voltage signals. This enables users to define custom failsafe strategies from simple warning lights to more advanced systems like pulling boost or ignition or switching fuel maps on a standalone engine management system. With AEM's HD boost dependent controller for forced induction diesel engines and the multi-input controller for petrol and diesel applications above 35 PSI, you can optimize your water/methanol system for maximum performance. The kit includes the controller and colour-coded wiring harness, ensuring a seamless installation process. Note that run-time between tank fills is dependent on the specific installation/application and varies depending on the Water/Methanol supply tank size, engine horsepower, and swirl-generator/flow requirements.
