Seals-It firewall grommet seals, crafted from flame retardant nitrile and bonded to anodised aluminium backing plates, are a crucial addition to any vehicle's through panel installation. These split, black grommets effectively shield the cockpit from intrusion by unwanted smoke and fumes while simultaneously safeguarding fluid lines and wiring against chafing on rough surfaces. The innovative design enables many installations where hoses or wires don't need to be entirely disassembled as the rubbery construction permits fittings to pass through it with ease. Ideal for fuel, oil, and other fluid lines, as well as wiring, these grommets offer a seamless solution to securing and protecting essential components. To ensure proper sizing, select a grommet where the hole diameter is 1.5-3.2mm smaller than your hose or wire's diameter. Additionally, make sure the rubber's outer diameter is 10mm larger than the assembly's largest part (generally the hose end fitting). For hassle-free installation, it's advisable to apply a lubricant such as petroleum or silicone jelly when passing lines through the grommet.
