Seals-It Firewall Grommet Seals - Double Blank 8.5" OD, Black

Seals-It firewall grommet seals are designed to prevent smoke, fumes, and other unwanted elements from entering the cockpit while simultaneously protecting fluid lines and wiring from chafing and damage on rough surfaces. Suitable for use with fuel, oil, and other fluid lines or wires, these grommets offer a professional finishing touch to all through-panel installations. The innovative design of these seals allows most existing hoses to pass through without the need for complete disassembly, making them both practical and convenient. Manufactured from high-quality, flame-retardant nitrile rubber, these grommets are bonded to an anodised aluminium backing plate, which features pre-drilled holes for easy installation via bolting or riveting onto panels or bulkheads. To ensure a proper fit, it is essential to select a grommet with a hole diameter that is 1.5-3.2mm smaller than the hose or wire and a rubber outer diameter that is 10mm larger than the largest part of the assembly (typically the hose end fitting) to be passed through it. For effortless installation, it is recommended to use a lubricant such as petroleum jelly or silicone grease when passing lines through the grommet.
