A comprehensive upgrade to improve every aspect of the turbocharger assembly includes a larger replacement compressor wheel, which removes weaker cast parts and increases airflow. The turbine wheel is enhanced to increase exhaust flow capacity, while the shaft and bearing construction are strengthened to withstand higher forces and extend turbo life. Our engineers, with decades of experience, provide expertise in developing and manufacturing bespoke parts from scratch, including the housings themselves.
Turbo Technics Hybrid Turbos sets itself apart by offering modifications that go beyond simple replacement of rotating parts. Each OE Turbo application is carefully assessed to identify every limitation, and a comprehensive upgrade program follows for each component. This includes developing new modification techniques and assembly concepts to extract greater performance from existing parts. The compressor wheel is responsible for drawing fresh air into the turbo, and is normally upgraded to a larger size to increase flow. Weaker cast components are often replaced with billet construction for increased strength.
The turbine wheel is used to transfer energy from the exhaust gases to drive the compressor wheel, which is modified or replaced to increase flow capacity. Rotating parts require robust and stronger bearings and shaft components to hold them in a consistent and stable position. Additional 360° thrust bearing assemblies are added where necessary.
Compressor and turbine housings require modification to accept the newer oversized rotating components, ensuring a snug fit with no loss of performance. Actuator modification or replacement is also included to achieve higher basic boost levels. Turbo Technics Hybrid Turbos receive modifications that far exceed the basic enhancements offered elsewhere, ensuring each specific application achieves optimal improvements and performance gains.
All turbos sold on our website are brand-new units, not remanufactured or reconditioned! Please note that performance gains over OE turbochargers are typically achieved with additional air intake, intercooler, exhaust system, and engine remapping upgrades. Where large jumps in power output above stock are desired, further engine modifications may be required and should be identified with your engine tuning professional.
