When added to unleaded pump fuel, it converts it into a true leaded fuel suitable for engines that require the added lubrication from leaded fuel. This product also boosts the fuel's octane rating by between 2 and 7 points, depending on the base fuel and mix ratio. For example, when mixed with 95 octane unleaded pump fuel at a ratio of 110:1 (100ml per 11.5 liters of fuel), it produces 97 octane 4-star fuel. When mixed with 99 octane Shell V-power at the same ratio, it produces 101 octane 5-star fuel or, if a 66:1 mix ratio is used (100ml per 6.5 liters of fuel), it produces 102 octane 5-star plus fuel. When mixed with Shell V-power at a 10:1 ratio, E-Guard 15 can produce a leaded fuel with 106 octane, ideal for race engines. The TetraBOOST E-Guard 15 Fuel Additive also includes Ethanol protection, which prevents damage to rubber fuel components in older vehicles caused by the presence of Ethanol in modern unleaded fuels. This means that you can enjoy the benefits of a true leaded fuel without worrying about the potential damage to your engine. The E-Guard 15 is suitable for road or motorsport use and should be added to your fuel tank prior to filling up at the pump.
