Wolverine Engine Oil Pre-Heater - 1.5 x 4 Inch (80W), 24V: A Solution for Efficient Engine Performance The Wolverine oil pre-heater is designed to provide a simple yet effective solution to preheating engine oil prior to initial start-up, reducing cold starting difficulties and wear on the starter motor and battery. Using aerospace technology, these low-profile heater pads are designed to attach to the sump pan or dry sump tank via a highly adhesive 'peel and stick' backing. The Wolverine heater pad is capable of raising the oil to near-full operating temperature in 45-90 minutes, depending on ambient temperature. The benefits of this include improved cold starting, reduced cold start wear, immediate lubrication, and reduced emulsification in the oil. This results in faster attainment of full operating temperature, leading to increased engine component life. ### Installation The Wolverine pre-heater pads are simple to install by following these steps: * Wire the cable to a suitable plug (see below for wiring information) * Mark the area where the pad is to be fitted, ensuring it's large enough to accommodate the full area of the pad * Clean the area by removing any paint, grease, oil or other contaminants using a residue-free cleaner like acetone or brake cleaner * Remove the backing from the pad and apply it to the cleaned area, removing any air pockets using the supplied application tool * Plug in the heater for 3-5 minutes to warm it up * Apply the heater pad to the cleaned area, removing any air pockets using the supplied application tool * Plug heater in again for 5-10 seconds * Use the installation tool to smooth over and remove any remaining air bubbles * Seal the edges of the pad using the supplied silicone sealer and allow it to fully cure before operating the heater ### Kit Contents The kit includes: * Silicone heater pad with a 6ft long cable * Pad applicator tool * Silicone sealer * Cable ties for the cord * Instructions Wolverine Engine oil pre-heaters are available in various sizes to suit different applications. Please use the table below to select the correct option for your application. ### Wiring The Wolverine heaters are available in 12v DC, 24v DC or 230v options. They are supplied with bare wire ends and require wiring. The 12v DC and 24v DC versions have two wires and are not polarity sensitive, so they can be wired either way. For 230V options, a 13amp plug is required (not included). For wiring purposes, the centre wire (green/yellow) is wired to earth pin, and the other two wires are to live and neutral.
