The Summit Technologies Raptor Tempest is a revolutionary wireless steering wheel button control system designed specifically for car enthusiasts. This 8-channel panel provides finger-tip control over electrical systems without the need for a coiled cable. The buttons are housed in a hard-wearing, textured polyurethane foam pad that is waterproof and ideal for open cockpit cars. The Raptor Tempest boasts an OEM look and feel, providing a fully wireless system with no coiled cables. It features user-configurable button operation, allowing users to control up to 8 different channels. The system is designed to fit a range of popular aftermarket steering wheels, including OMP Targa, Sparco 383, Momo Team, Momo Model 26, and SPA Design Formula. The Raptor Tempest comes in two versions: Clubman and Pro. The difference between the two models lies in the receiver. The Clubman model uses 12V relays for switching, whereas the Pro model features a solid-state receiver with 12V 250mA regulated outputs that can be switched down to 5V logic level for PDM use. The Tempest's integrated wiring system ensures no external components to snag or break. The switches are resin-filled with protective caps to provide longevity and reliability. The panel is powered by a 3V CR2032 battery, which can be changed via the magnetic quick-release centre cap featuring an LED that changes color to display the current battery condition. The 12-volt receiver module has been developed to fit within a waterproof Deutsch enclosure, making it suitable for use in harsh environments. The system includes an 80cm long wiring loom with a 12-pin Deutsch connector, providing flexibility in mounting. The Raptor Tempest is fully user-configurable and allows each of the buttons to be set as either momentary, latching, or flashing actions. This provides the flexibility to control various functions in the car, including lighting, horn, lap timers, traction control, launch control, wipers, fans, radio communication, and more. The system can be configured for race use or as an IVA-compliant system for use on road cars. The race configuration features no preset channels, allowing users to set the system to control whatever they require. When set to flashing action, the flash rate is pre-set at 4 times per second (4Hz), ideal for use as a 'flash to pass' function when connected to the headlights. A decal sheet with popular symbols is included. The road configuration is fully IVA-compliant and includes a decal sheet with IVA-recognised symbols for functions such as headlights, indicators, horn, hazard lights, wipers, washers, and more. The flash rate is pre-set at 2 times per second (2Hz), an IVA requirement. The road version also features clever cancellation logic that prevents more than one signal (indicator) button being active at the same time. The Raptor Tempest comes with a comprehensive package including a steering wheel button transmitter pad, 8-channel relay receiver, wiring loom with 12-pin Deutsch connector, CR2032 battery, and decal sheet with 56 different decals. The system also includes installation instructions.
