The Summit Technologies Raptor Tempest is a revolutionary wireless steering wheel button control system designed specifically for aftermarket steering wheels. This innovative product provides fingertip control of electrical systems without the need for coiled cables, offering a seamless and hassle-free experience. The Raptor Tempest features an OEM-like look and feel, with a high-quality textured polyurethane foam pad that is both waterproof and durable. It boasts up to 8 channels, allowing users to configure the system to control various electrical systems in their vehicle. The system is fully wireless, eliminating the need for coiled cables, and provides user-configurable button operation. The Clubman model uses 12V relays for switching, whereas the Pro model features a solid-state receiver with 12V 250mA regulated outputs that can be switched down to 5V logic level for PDM use. The wiring is integrated into the panel, eliminating snag or break issues, and the switches are resin-filled with protective caps to ensure longevity and reliability. The Raptor Tempest is powered by a 3V CR2032 battery, which can be changed via the magnetic quick-release centre cap. The cap features an LED that changes colour to display the current battery condition. The 12-volt receiver module has been developed to fit within a waterproof Deutsch enclosure, providing protection from harsh environments. The system offers flexibility in configuring the buttons as either Momentary, Latching, or Flashing actions, allowing users to control various functions such as lighting, horn, lap timers, traction control, launch control, wipers, fans, radio communication, and more. The Raptor Tempest can be configured for race use or as an IVA-compliant system for road cars. For the race configuration, the flash rate is pre-set at 4 times per second (4Hz) for a 'flash to pass' function when connected to the headlights. A decal sheet with popular symbols such as PTT, rain light, flash, lock, TCS, NOS arm, and NOS fire is included. For the road configuration, the system includes a decal sheet with IVA-recognized symbols for functions such as headlights, indicators, horn, hazard lights, wipers, washers, and more. The flash rate is pre-set at 2 times per second (2Hz), meeting IVA requirements. The system features clever cancellation logic that prevents more than one signal (indicator) button being active at the same time. The Raptor Tempest is compatible with various aftermarket steering wheels, including OMP Targa, Sparco 383, Momo Team, Momo Model 26, SPA Design Formula, and Group buys for other styles of steering wheels are possible.
