The Cometic Multi Layer Steel (MLS) Cylinder Head Gasket is a high-performance solution designed to provide exceptional sealing performance for high-output engines, eliminating the need for additional sealants or re-torquing. As an upgrade from OEM gaskets, this product offers superior sealing capabilities, making it ideal for tuned engines with higher compression or boost levels. The Cometic MLS gaskets are constructed from multiple layers of stainless steel, featuring embossed outer layers and a heat-resistant Viton coating. This design enables the gaskets to resist corrosion and withstand high heat (up to 250°C) and load conditions. As a result, these gaskets are perfectly suited for use on high-performance engines with cast iron or aluminium heads. Some applications have an MLX gasket option, which is based on the MLS gaskets but features an integrated 'stopper' layer that creates a sealing ring around the combustion chamber. This enhances clamp loads without causing excessive bore distortion. The Cometic MLX gaskets are ideal for use on highly tuned engines.
