Revo's Open Cone Air Intakes are designed to provide unparalleled airflow to your engine, ensuring that you get the most power out of your vehicle. The combination of a high-surface-area conical air filter, specially designed pipework, and (where applicable) heat-shield work together to increase power either as a standalone upgrade or in combination with a remap. The big conical air filter is optimized for optimal airflow to the engine, providing a much greater surface area than traditional air filters. This results in more air entering the engine, which can lead to increased power. The specially designed pipework replaces extensive sections of the original airbox and inlet with either aluminium hardpipe or smooth silicone hosing. This pipework flows much better than plastic flexi hose, resulting in less turbulence when you put your foot down. The smooth pipe/hose interior allows for smoother airflow, ensuring that your engine gets the oxygen it needs to perform at its best. The bigger bore pipework helps get more air through the system, making it ideal for higher stage upgrades. The heat-shield is designed to keep hot air from the engine bay away from the cone filter, preventing any power loss due to inefficient combustion or the engine trimming back its power level because of inlet temperatures. By situating the filter in a location under the bonnet, cold air is fed into it from outside the bonnet as the car drives along, ensuring that more oxygen is available for power. When combined with remaps like Revo's own, this intake can increase power significantly. The open cone filters used by Revo are made from oiled foam and feature a specially designed filter medium that flows well throughout its life. The filter comes in layers with different sized holes to catch different grades of dust, ensuring that dust doesn't clog one layer and that the filter flows well for longer.
