The Competition Clutch Lightweight Flywheel, weighing 6.10kg, is a high-performance chromoly flywheel specifically designed to reduce drive-train inertia for enhanced driving feel and improved gear shifting response. By replacing the heavy stock flywheel, this lightweight component helps your engine respond more keenly to throttle inputs, revs up faster, and hangs onto revs longer when you lift off the throttle. The carefully balanced design ensures that driveability is preserved, allowing for smoother performance on both the road and track. Manufactured from top-quality 4140 forged chromoly steel, this alloy provides excellent strength and heat resistance, ensuring longevity and reliability under demanding conditions. Despite its lightweight nature, the Competition Clutch Lightweight Flywheel retains a sufficient amount of weight to maintain low-end torque delivery, making it suitable for daily driven cars. These flywheels are compatible with standard fitment clutches and are recommended for use with stage 1 and 2 upgrades. Please be aware that Mazda RX-7/RX-8 models require a counterweight to function correctly on rotary engines. The flywheel is available in both versions: with and without the counterweight included.
