The Hans III Device is a pioneering HANS device designed to replicate the top-level devices used in Formula 1, but at a more affordable price point, making it accessible to a wider range of motorsport enthusiasts. Its hollow collar reduces its weight, making it the lightest entry-level HANS device available on the market. It comes with a recline angle of either 20 or 30 degrees, catering to various forms of motorsport, from saloons to single seaters. The Hans III is designed to provide maximum freedom of movement, thanks to its sliding tethers, which come as standard. However, helmet posts and clips are not included in the package and can be purchased separately. This device is available in two sizes: Medium, suitable for collars up to 17" (43cm) in diameter, and Large, suitable for collars over 17" (43cm) in diameter. The weight of the device comes in at either 800g or 850g, including padding and tethers. Notably, the Hans III meets the FIA 8858-2010 approval standard, making it a reliable choice for motorsport competitors. It is highly recommended by Motorsport UK for stage rally competitors, circuit racing drivers in post-1976 cars, and pre-1977 cars, where an FHR is highly advised. Demon Tweeks strongly recommends using harnesses with 2/3" or 2" wide shoulder straps along with all FHR devices to ensure a secure fit.
