The Wilwood Powerlite Brake Caliper Radial Mount is a high-performance brake solution designed for sports, rally, and off-road applications. With a sleek profile and superior strength, this caliper weighs just 2.26 pounds, making it both lightweight and durable in high-temperature situations. The Powerlite's exceptional strength can be attributed to its unique manufacturing process and design. The stress-flow forging re-aligns the metal grain structure within the contour of the caliper body, eliminating internal stresses and interruptions that occur when machining a straight block billet. Additionally, the FEA generated radial transition design eliminates steps and shoulders in the area between the piston housing body and the caliper bridges, increasing resistance to deflection and caliper separation under load. This brake caliper features 7912 type brake pads supported by quick-clip pad retainers from the top, eliminating the need for a pad support step in the bottom of the calibre. This design provides additional clearance for mounting closer to the hub on small wheel and rotor applications, as well as easy access to the pads without removing the caliper. The Powerlite is designed to fit rotor diameters between 9.45" and 11" (240-289mm) and is ideal for wheel sizes ranging from 13" to 15". The rotor width is compatible with 0.50" (12.7mm) or 0.86" (21.84mm). Wilwood's SRS Stainless steel bridge plates eliminate bridge wear caused by pad gouging and pad rattle, while also dampening vibration harmonics that contribute to squeal under braking. The internal fluid passages eliminate the need for external tubes, and four corner bleed screws ensure simple and effective air evacuation, allowing one caliper to be mounted in one of four positions. Calipers are non-handed and sold individually. The Powerlite's exceptional performance is further demonstrated by its ability to adapt to various sports, rally, and off-road applications. Its lightweight profile makes it ideal for applications where high-performance braking is crucial.
