The Simpson Hybrid S Head and Neck Restraint - Medium Optional M61 Quick Release System is an innovative, FIA 8858-2010 approved carbon fibre constructed device designed to provide excellent protection during front, offset, and side impacts. Its unique design ensures that it can be easily installed and removed from the car without the risk of getting hung up on other gear. The Hybrid S boasts a low profile in the industry, allowing for quick entry and exit from the race car while providing maximum comfort and manoeuvrability. It sits comfortably on the back/shoulders, rather than over the chest or collarbone like traditional HANS-type devices. This design ensures that it provides excellent contact with the car and keeps the driver/co-driver more securely in place. The device is supplied ready to fit to existing FIA Hans posts or can be specified with optional M61 quick release tethers/anchors. These M61 anchors are fitted in place of your original Hans posts, allowing you to use the Hybrid device with helmets that have standard fitment HANS anchors already fitted (or the correct approval to retro-fit anchors). The M61 helmet anchors and quick release straps are included with the M61 Quick Release Option. The M61 anchors allow drivers to use the Hybrid device with helmets that meet the FIA 8858-2010 standard or higher, while the quick release tethers/straps enable drivers to easily release the restraint by a simple pull on the cord attached to the helmet. The Simpson Hybrid S is ideal for rallying where the helmet may be taken on and off more frequently (i.e. between stages). It has been approved for helmets meeting the FIA 8858-2010 standard or higher, making it an excellent choice for competitors competing in Motorsport UK-sanctioned events. All stage rally competitors must use an FHR, while circuit racing drivers in post-1976 cars must use an FHR. Demon Tweeks highly recommends using harnesses with 2/3" or 2" wide shoulder straps to provide the best fit with all FHRs.
