The Pitking Products Lightweight Aluminium 1/4 Turn Quick Release Self Eject Fasteners are designed to provide a lightweight alternative to traditional steel fasteners, offering a weight reduction of 50% compared to Dzus equivalents. These aluminium fasteners are ideal for racing cars and bikes, allowing users to make a seamless switch without compromising performance. These self-ejecting fasteners feature a simple push-and-turn mechanism, making it easy to secure flat or curved panels. The quick release function is activated by a spring that also serves as an indicator if the fastener has not been properly secured. The pin locates on a spring (available separately) which is riveted to the back panel and can be deflected to achieve a secure fixing. The Pitking Products Aluminium Fasteners are available in two body sizes: 37mm baseplate with 27mm between rivet holes, and 44mm baseplate with 32mm between rivet holes. To determine the required fastener length, users should add the total material thickness to the spring clearance, then subtract the spring deflection (0.047" for the S5 spring or 0.062" for the S6 spring). This calculation will provide the material depth or 'grip' thickness. The attachment springs are available separately and can be used in conjunction with the corresponding fasteners. For the 37mm fasteners, the S5 spring is recommended, while for the 44mm fasteners, the S6 spring should be used.
