These Pitking Products lightweight aluminium self-eject fasteners offer a remarkable 50% weight reduction compared to their steel counterparts, making them an ideal choice for racing cars and bicycles where every gram counts. The fasteners are designed to be easily interchangeable with Dzus fasteners, ensuring a seamless transition without any modifications. The quick release feature ensures that the pin self-ejects when released, providing an instant indicator if the fastener has not been properly secured. This clever mechanism operates in conjunction with a spring (available separately), which is riveted to the back panel and can be deflected to achieve a secure fixing. These fasteners are suitable for fastening flat or curved panels, using a simple push-and-turn mechanism. To determine the required length of fastener, simply add the total material thickness to the spring clearance, then subtract the spring deflection (0.047" for S5 springs and 0.062" for S6 springs). This calculation yields your material depth or 'grip' thickness. The Pitking Products fasteners come in two body sizes: a 37mm baseplate with 27mm between rivet holes, and a 44mm baseplate with 32mm between rivet holes. The corresponding attachment springs are available separately, with the S5 spring suitable for the 37mm fasteners and the S6 spring suitable for the 44mm fasteners.
