Holley Hydramat Fuel Tank Pickup / Collector - Option 4

The Holley Hydramat Fuel Tank Pickup/Collector, Option 4, is an innovative solution to the issues that arise from conventional fuel pickups in both stock fuel tanks and racing fuel cells. During demanding driving conditions such as high-speed cornering, acceleration, braking, inclines, and low fuel levels, fuel tends to move away from the pickup point, leading to air introduction into the system. This results in poor engine performance and even stalling. The Hydramat's unique design harnesses surface tension and fluid wicking properties to draw fuel from a wide range of areas that come into contact with fuel, storing it in its internal reservoir. As an area of the Hydramat is exposed, its porous media seals off through surface tension, containing the fuel in the reservoir and drawing from other covered areas where fuel remains available. This large coverage area allows the Hydramat to extract fuel from almost any location within the tank or cell, eliminating the need for specialized reservoirs and pickup pumps, thereby saving costs and significantly reducing complexity. The Hydramat is available in various sizes to suit different tank dimensions and shapes. It comes in square, rectangular, and cross-shaped mats to accommodate sending unit access holes or fuel cell cover plates. Magnetic fitting kits are also available separately to secure the Hydramat to the bottom of a steel fuel tank. The table below outlines which fitting kit corresponds to each kit type:
