The Holley Hydramat Fuel Tank Pickup/Collector - Option 6 is an innovative solution to the challenges posed by conventional fuel pickups in both stock fuel tanks and racing fuel cells. Traditional fuel pickups struggle during demanding driving conditions such as hard cornering, acceleration, braking, inclines, and low fuel levels, leading to air intake that results in poor engine performance and even stalling. The Hydramat's secret lies in its ability to exploit surface tension and fluid wicking properties, enabling it to draw fuel from various areas of the tank or cell with contact, store it internally, and supply it as required. The extensive size and coverage area of the Hydramat ensure that it can extract fuel from almost any part of the tank or cell, negating the need for specialized reservoirs and pick-up pumps. This translates into cost savings and significantly reduced complexity. The Hydramat is manufactured in various dimensions to cater for different tank sizes and configurations. You will find square, rectangular, and 'X'-shaped mats designed to accommodate different sending unit access holes or fuel cell cover plates. For steel fuel tanks, you can secure the Hydramat using our separately available magnetic fitting kits. These kits come in two types: Type 1 (16-203, 4-40 magnets) and Type 2 (16-204, 6-32 magnets).
