Introducing the Holley Hydramat Fuel Tank Pickup/Collector - Option 5, a revolutionary solution to common fuel pick-up issues in both stock tanks and racing fuel cells. Traditional fuel pickups struggle during demanding driving conditions such as hard cornering, acceleration, braking, inclines, and low fuel levels, leading to the introduction of air into the system and subsequent poor engine performance or stalling. Holley's Hydramat addresses these concerns through its innovative use of surface tension and fluid wicking properties. When an area of the mat is exposed to fuel, the pores in the media seal off through surface tension, retaining fuel within the internal reservoir and drawing it from other areas where fuel continues to be available. This allows the Hydramat to effectively draw fuel from a wide range of locations, eliminating the need for specialty reservoirs and pick-up pumps and significantly reducing complexity. The versatile Hydramat comes in various sizes to suit different tank dimensions. Shape options include cross, rectangle, square, and X-shaped mats designed to fit through various sending unit access holes or fuel cell cover plates. To secure the mat to a steel fuel tank, magnetic fitting kits are available in two types - Type 1 with 4-40 magnets (16-203) and Type 2 with 6-32 magnets (16-204).
