The purpose of an expansion tank is to provide an air space for the coolant to expand into, allowing it to flow freely between the engine and radiator. When installing the Canton Coolant Expansion Fill Tank, ensure that the tank is positioned higher than both the engine and radiator to guarantee complete filling. The tank itself should be partially filled, leaving space for expansion. These expansion tanks come in two sizes: 1 1/4 Quart (1 Litre) and 2 Quart options, featuring a 3/8" NPT side port and a 1/2" NPT bottom port.
