The Pro-Bolt Flanged Hex Head Stainless Steel Bolts in M10 x 1.25mm x 40mm (24mm) are manufactured from high-quality 316 Stainless Steel, offering superior strength and corrosion resistance. The bolts feature a dished out head with a captive washer (flange), and are buffed to a mirror finish, requiring no polishing. Material Properties: Stainless Steels, like the 316 used here, contain a minimum of 10.5% chromium, with added elements like Nickel, Molybdenum, Titanium, Copper, Carbon, and Nitrogen to enhance properties such as formability and strength. The chromium-rich oxide film provides corrosion resistance by creating a protective film that is strong and chemically stable. This film is extremely thin and will usually self-repair if sufficient oxygen is available. Applications: The 316 Stainless Steel is suitable for low-stress applications where a durable finish is required. Heat Resistance: The 316 has good resistance to oxidation in intermittent service up to 870°C and in continuous service up to 925°C. However, continuous use at 425-860°C is not recommended. Torque & Lubrication: For torque values, refer to the manufacturer's specifications or the listed values below. It is recommended to apply antiseize or copper-based paste to the threads to prevent galling (where friction can cause two stainless steel components to bond together). If threadlock is to be used, a medium-grade is recommended. Thread Diameter and Torque Values:
