Pro-Bolt Dome Head Stainless Steel Bolts - M6 x 1.00mm x 20mm (12mm)
Manufactured from high-quality 316 Stainless Steel, these bolts offer superior strength and corrosion resistance. The buffed mirror finish requires no polishing, ensuring a smooth and even surface.
Material Properties:
The 316 Stainless Steel used in these bolts contains at least 10.5% chromium, which forms the basis of its corrosion-resistant properties. Other elements such as nickel, molybdenum, titanium, copper, carbon, and nitrogen are added to enhance formability and strength.
The corrosion resistance of stainless steel is due to a protective film formed by the chromium-rich oxide. This thin film is chemically stable and can self-repair if sufficient oxygen is present. However, under certain conditions, this passive state can be broken down, leading to corrosion.
Applications:
The 316 stainless steel is suitable for low-stress applications where a durable finish is required. The bolts are ideal for use in various industries where high-quality corrosion resistance and strength are crucial.
Heat Resistance:
The 316 stainless steel has good resistance to oxidation in intermittent service up to 870°C and in continuous service up to 925°C. However, it is not recommended for continuous use at temperatures between 425-860°C.
Torque & Lubrication:
When using fasteners, refer to the torque values specified by your equipment manufacturer or the listed values below:
For general use, it is recommended to apply antiseize or copper-based paste to the threads to prevent galling (where friction can cause two stainless steel components to bond together). If threadlock is to be used, a medium-grade is recommended.
Bolt Measurements:
The bolt length measurements are taken from below the head, and the number in the brackets represents the thread length. These bolts are sold individually.
