Pro-Bolt's Dome Head Stainless Steel Bolts, manufactured from high-quality 316 Stainless Steel, offer superior strength and corrosion resistance. These bolts are polished to a mirror finish, ensuring no polishing is required.
The material specification of these bolts is 316 Stainless Steel, which contains a minimum of 10.5% chromium with added elements like nickel, molybdenum, titanium, copper, carbon, and nitrogen to enhance properties such as formability and strength. The corrosion resistance of stainless steel is due to the strong, chemically stable chromium-rich oxide film that forms on its surface.
This protective film is extremely thin and will usually self-repair if sufficient oxygen is available. However, under certain conditions, the passive state can be broken down, resulting in corrosion.
Dome Head Bolts made from 316 stainless steel are suitable for low-stress applications where a durable finish is required.
The bolts have good resistance to oxidation in intermittent service up to 870°C and continuous service up to 925°C. However, continuous use at 425-860°C is not recommended.
For torque values, refer to the manufacturer's specifications or the listed values below. It is recommended to apply antiseize or copper-based paste to the threads to prevent galling. If threadlock is to be used, a medium-grade threadlock is recommended.
The Dome Head Bolt length measurements are taken from below the head, with the number in brackets representing the thread length.
