The Pro-Bolt Countersunk Stainless Steel Bolts are manufactured from high-quality 316 Stainless Steel, offering superior strength and corrosion resistance. These bolts are buffed to a mirror finish, eliminating the need for polishing. **Material Properties** Stainless Steels, with a minimum of 10.5% chromium, have iron alloys added to enhance properties such as formability and strength. The chromium-riche oxide film provides strong corrosion resistance. This protective film is extremely thin and will usually self-repair if sufficient oxygen is available. **Applications** The 316 Stainless Steel is suitable for low-stress applications where a durable finish is required. It has good resistance to oxidation in intermittent service up to 870°C and continuous service up to 925°C. It is recommended to use antiseize or copper-based paste on the threads to prevent galling (where friction can cause two stainless steel components to bond together).
