The AIM Motorsport Wheel Speed Sensor/Pick Up (Hall Effect - 712 Connection) is a high-performance sensor designed for accurate wheel speed measurement in automotive applications. It offers two options: Magnetic and Hall Effect, both providing reliable performance with different mounting requirements and trigger methods. The Magnetic Wheel Speed Sensor employs a magnetic trigger, requiring a bracket (not included) for mounting. Suitable positions include the wheel, wheel hub, prop shaft or brake disc, depending on your vehicle's specifications. The sensor detects the passing of the magnetic trigger as it rotates, ensuring precise speed measurement. This model comes with an approximate 1.7m cable length for easy installation. Alternatively, the Hall Effect Sensor is a non-contact device that relies on a metallic trigger to pass in front of it. Similar to the Magnetic version, a bracket will typically need to be fabricated for mounting purposes. The distance between the sensor and trigger should fall within the 0.5 - 2.0 mm (0.007 - 0.07 inches) range for optimal performance. This model features an extended 2.0m cable length and offers a higher-quality Honeywell ABS hall effect sensor for enhanced accuracy. Both models are compatible with the following AIM data loggers: EVO4, MXL (Strada), MXG/MXS/MXP (including Strada), and MXL2. The 719 Connection ensures seamless integration with your chosen device for comprehensive vehicle monitoring. For extended cable lengths, use a 719-719 Extension Lead to reach the required distance.
