The AIM Motorsport MyChron5 S Dash Logger / Kart Lap Timer is an advanced and cutting-edge device specifically designed for kart racing enthusiasts. With its improved GPS frequency of 25 Hz, it offers increased precision accuracy of approximately 45 cm (1.5 ft) compared to the previous model's 5 feet (1.6 m). This upgraded version features a redesigned Wi-Fi module for faster data download speeds and a more powerful processor that is two times faster than its predecessor. The MyChron5 S is equipped with a high-resolution graphical display capable of sampling, viewing, and recording various kart engine parameters such as speed, lap times (including split and predictive), gear, temperature, rpm, and data from the optional LCU-One Lambda Controller and MyChron Expansion module. This multifunctional system enables drivers to monitor essential information in real time. The device comes with one temperature sensor input that can be used to measure water temperature, under spark plug cylinder head temperature (CHT), or exhaust gas temperature (EGT). A choice of M10 (Rotax) or M5 water temperature sensors, an under plug CHT sensor, and an EGT sensor (standard M5 or M12 to suit KF engine type) are supplied with the kit. Additional sensors can be added using the MyChron Expansion module, or for those only requiring two temperatures, consider the MyChron5 S 2T version. The MyChron 5 S features seven configurable display colours, allowing drivers to easily read essential numerical data such as lap times and lap number, RPM in a configurable scale, and one temperature value on track. Once back in the paddock, users can scroll through all relevant data on the display, including lap times with best lap indication, max RPM, and max temperature values. Catering to both beginners and professionals alike, the MyChron 5 S provides comprehensive data acquisition solutions. Data is recorded internally in a 4Gb memory and can be downloaded wirelessly via Wi-Fi for detailed post-race analysis using the professional Race Studio software (free to download). The integrated GPS system automatically detects which track you are on and records lap times, predictive lap times, and split times without additional sensors or configuration. The robust housing with a wider display ensures excellent readability even in various lighting conditions, while the ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the display brightness to optimize viewing. With fully customizable pages, users can create as many pages as desired, showing graphic bars or just digits, either through software or directly on the system. The MyChron5 S also offers calculated gear numbers for shift karts and a wide, configurable multicolour backlight to accommodate additional data. The rechargeable lithium battery provides a long-lasting power source (about 10 hours of duration) that is easy to charge via a dedicated magnetic basement connected to the power adapter or an optional external power lead connection to your kart's 12v battery. The device also features five RGB shift lights with adjustable LED colours and RPM threshold values, as well as configurable alarms for various situations. The Wi-Fi connection allows users to easily download data to their PC, monitor online measures, upgrade firmware, transmit parameters using the Data Key or through fast Wi-Fi connection. Expansion options include the LCU-One Lambda controller for perfect carburetion tuning, MyChron Expansion for adding additional sensors, and SmartyCam HD camera for professional videos with real-time data overlaid.
