General Questions

As you can probably tell, Compare.Parts is more orientated around car enthusiasts who modify their cars, vs servicable items. Our founder is a car enthusiast so its natural the site reflects that.

Whilst some of our partners will list consumables like wipers, spark plugs, car batteries etc, we're generally geared more towards the performance end of car parts, for car enthusiasts who like to modify their own cars.

There are a lot of sites which sell OEM parts or consumables, less less which focus purely on the performance end, and even fewer marketplaces who do what we do. This is the main reason we built the site in the first place.

There are a few different ways to search on Compare.Parts.

Product Search: On the top of each page is a search bar, type in what you are looking for and hit the search icon or the Enter Key if you are on a computer.
We refresh our partner data feeds daily, and users can list their parts on the site after the sign up. So pretty frequently. We try to have a large range of products, but if there is something we're missing then please contact us and we'll look into it.
Our top priority is to help you find exactly what you need, not to push certain products over others. Here’s how we ensure fairness and relevancy in our listings:

Relevancy is Key: When you search for parts on our site, the results you see are based on how relevant they are to what you’re looking for. This means we prioritize showing you the parts that best match your search criteria, regardless of any other factors.

Equal Treatment for All Listings: Yes, some of our partners compensate us when their products are sold, but this doesn’t influence how we list or prioritize their products. We treat all listings the same, whether they’re from partners who pay us commission or those who don’t.

No Pushing of Commission-Based Parts: We’re here to help you make the best choice for your needs, not to push certain products for our gain. You can trust that the parts you see are listed because they’re relevant to your search, not because they pay us more.

We believe in transparency and providing you with the best possible options, so you can make informed decisions without worrying about any hidden agendas. Your trust is important to us, and we’re committed to maintaining a fair and unbiased marketplace.
We tried to list as many cars as possible, but its not always possible. When it comes to Performance Car Parts a lot are universal, and those that aren't we don't always get information as to what make and model its suitable for.

We try to use algorithms to extract vehicle information from product data but its not perfect, and it would be impossible for such a small team of people to manually go through each part and state which make and model it is.

We're hoping to get AI to help, but that's a pipedream at this point, but if you have an idea on how we can organise our catalog better to serve the car community, let us know!
We can definetely try, drop us a message. We can't make any guarantee's, obviously certain makes and models of cars we know better than others.
Where possible we encourage shops/sellers to list parts with any sales tax/VAT on the website.

However, with a global audience and depending on where you are in the world the amount of tax you pay, duties or import fees differs.
Trick question – neither

Buying Parts on Compare.Parts

If we ever got to a point financially where we could, we would. But for now, we'd have to pass the message on to the partners who list their products on our site.
In short, no. We list the cheapest prices we find for car parts. Although some partners may have coupon codes they'll share with us, which we'll include on the product listings, but generally we put the cheapest prices on the site.
That's harsh, but it could be for a variety of different reasons. If you've been unable to reach the seller, contact us and provide as much information as you can, and we'll reach out to them on your behalf to try and help out.
At Compare.Parts, we understand how important it is for you to shop with confidence. Here’s how we ensure your peace of mind:

Direct and Secure Transactions: When you buy on Compare.Parts, your transactions are securely processed either through PayPal or Stripe, two of the most trusted payment providers. This means your payment details are always protected.

PayPal Buyer Protection: If you choose PayPal for your purchase, you're covered by PayPal Buyer Protection. This means if there’s an issue with your order, like if it doesn’t arrive or doesn’t match the description, PayPal can help sort it out.

Shopping on Compare.Parts vs. Seller’s Website: Now, here’s where things get a bit different. Some items on our site can be purchased directly through us, which is where we can lend a hand if you need assistance. However, for some products, we’ll direct you to the seller’s website to complete your purchase. In these cases, the transaction is between you and the seller, so our ability to step in is limited.

Our Commitment: Even though we can't directly assist with purchases made on external websites, we’re dedicated to making your shopping experience smooth and enjoyable. If you ever have questions or need advice before heading to a seller’s site, don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
