The Powerflex Single Black Series Rear Gearbox Mount Bush is a high-performance upgraded Polyurethane engine & gearbox mount designed to provide superior noise and vibration isolation properties compared to standard mounts.

The stock mounts are designed with Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) in mind, but they may not be ideal for the extra stresses caused by spirited road or track driving. Upgrading to a Powerflex engine mount allows for less flex in the engine mounting, resulting in less engine movement while still offering superb sound damping.

This improved rigidity results in sharper gear changes and reduced stress transmitted to the downpipe. The Powerflex mounts are available in different compounds, each tailored to specific driver needs.

• The Red compound (product code ends with R) is the softest on offer and is ideal for diesel engines due to its superior NVH absorption properties. While it can be used on petrol engines, Powerflex recommends it for diesels that produce more vibration.
• The Yellow compound (middle ground) is not recommended for diesel use as it transmits a lot of NVH.
• The Purple compound (product code ends with P) is the stiffest compound short of the Black series and is normally recommended for track use due to its increased NVH.

The Black series bushes may be available for some cars, using the hardest compound Powerflex makes and transmitting a lot of NVH but offering the most rigidity short of a solid engine mount.
