When engines are tuned, standard distributor units often become unsuitable due to different camshaft profiles and twin-sidedraught carburettors that affect the ignition curve, leading to a loss of power and poor driving experience.

Our performance distributors are based on new Lucas or Bosch units and have been dynamically developed to provide optimal ignition advance curves for various engine states.

They're available with mechanical advance options for engines using twin-sidedraught carburettors as well.

Designed specifically for BMC 'B' Series applications, our 101BY1 distributor model includes a vacuum advance feature and is suitable for MGBs and Marina TCs fitted with HS4 SU Carburettors.

It replaces the standard distributor to improve power delivery and drivability while maintaining good resistance to 'run-on'.

This distributor comes standard with contact breaker (points) ignition, but options for Ignitor electronic ignition are also available if desired.
