Our distributors come in various specifications depending on the type of carburettor and camshaft used in the engine. We have distributors suitable for all types of Ford engines including those fitted with SU, HS4 SU, and side draught carburettors, as well as those using Lucas or Bosch units.
We offer both non-vacuum and vacuum advance distributors to suit various engine configurations. Non-vacuum distributors are suitable for engines where the camshaft has not been modified, while vacuum advance distributors offer improved driveability when used with modified camshafts.
- For MGB's and Marina TC's, we have distributors fitted with HS4 SU Carburettors and those with standard Lucas units. N.B. Later versions of these cars have the vacuum advance pipe connected to the inlet manifold, not the carburettor - use 101BY2 for these applications.
- For MGAs and early MGB's, we have distributors fitted with HS4 SU Carburettors (101BY1) and those with standard Lucas units (101BY1S), which have the H.T. leads coming out of the side instead of the top to avoid interference with the steering column.
- For pre-rubber MGBs, we have distributor 101BY2, which is identical to 101BY1 but has a different location for the vacuum advance pipe.
- We also offer distributors for Ford X/Flow and twin cam engines (all Lucas based). Our distributors are suitable for engines with side draught carburettors and standard 'GT' camshafts as well as modified camshafts such as 714, 715, Piper 270,285, Kent 234, 244, etc.
- For Ford X/Flow engines with rubber engine mountings, we offer distributors 103FX1 and 103FX1S, which are identical but have a different location for the H.T. leads to avoid interference with the steering column. For later X/Flow engines with modified camshafts, we have distributor 103FXY, which is suitable for use with SU or twin choke down draught carburettors.
- Finally, for race-specification Ford X/Flow engines, we offer distributor 103FXR. Full engine specifications are required to ensure correct fitment.
- We also offer distributors for the Ford Pinto range, which come in non-vacuum and vacuum advance versions depending on the carburettor and camshaft used.
