Aldon Automotive Performance Distributors - Ford Pinto 104FPR2

Aldon Automotive Performance Distributors are specifically designed for use with Ford Pinto engines that have been upgraded with different camshaft profiles and often twin sidedraught carburettors. The standard distributor unit no longer provides the correct ignition curve required by these optimised engines, leading to a loss of power and drivability. Aldon performance distributors are developed on new Lucas or Bosch units and dynamically tested to offer the appropriate ignition advance curve for various engine states of tune. Most versions come with the option of having mechanical advance for engines using twin sidedraught carburettors, ensuring a seamless integration with the upgraded components. Improvements include: - Modified ignition advance curve options to match popular camshaft upgrades - Enhanced power and drivability on tuned engines - Availability of Ignitor electronic ignition for improved reliability and consistent ignition trigger The following distributors are suitable for different applications: BMC 'A' SERIES APPLICATIONS: 100AY - Suitable for non-vacuum distributor, fitting most tuned engines with camshafts such as Piper 270/285, Kent 266/276 and 286. This option does not require a vacuum advance. 100AYV - Same characteristics as the 100AY but comes with vacuum advance for engines that operate at higher compression ratios (generally over 10:1). 100AYS - Identical to the 100AY but features a distributor cap with H.T. leads coming out of the side instead of the top, necessary for Sprite/ Midget applications. 100AYSV - Same as the 100AYV but features a distributor cap with H.T. leads coming out of the side. 100AYP - Uses the same advance characteristics as 100AY but is designed to fit 'A' plus blocks in the metro. 100AR - Suitable for rally and race tuned engines, ideal for camshafts such as 649, sprint or supersprint type. This version also comes with mechanical advance. 100ARS - Same as the 100AR but features a distributor cap with H.T. leads coming out of the side. 100ARP - Uses the same advance characteristics as 100AR but is designed to fit 'A' plus blocks in the metro. BMC 'B' SERIES APPLICATIONS: 101BY1 - Designed for non-vacuum distributor, suitable for vehicles with HS4 SU Carburettors and does not require vacuum advance. 101BY1S - Identical to the 101BY1 but features a distributor cap with H.T. leads coming out of the side instead of the top, necessary for some pre-rubber MGBs where H.T. leads may foul on the steering column. 101BY2 - Suitable for vehicles with HIF4 SU Carburettors, comes with vacuum advance to improve driveability while maintaining resistance to 'run-on'. 101BR1 - Non-vacuum distributor suitable for tuned engines using camshafts such as 714, 715, Piper 270/285 and a side draught carburettor. 101BR1S - Same as the 101BR1 but features a distributor cap with H.T. leads coming out of the side instead of the top. 101BR2 - Vacuum advance distributor for road tuned engines using 714, 864, Piper 270/285 camshafts while retaining SU carburettors. FORD X/FLOW AND TWIN CAM (ALL LUCAS BASED): 103FX1 - Non-vacuum distributor suitable for X/Flow engines with side draught carburettors but retaining the standard camshaft. 103FX1S - Same as the 103FX1 but features a distributor cap with H.T. leads coming out of the side instead of the top, necessary for vehicles with a pair of side draught carburettors. 103FXY - Non-vacuum distributor suitable for most tuned X/Flow engines using camshafts such as A2, BCF1, Piper 270/285, Kent 234,244 in conjunction with side draught carburettors. 103FXYV - Suitable for vehicles with a twin choke down draught carburettor on some X/Flow engines it may be possible to have a vacuum advance distributor fitted. 103FXYS - Same as the 100FXY but features a distributor cap with H.T. leads coming out of the side instead of the top, necessary for vehicles with a pair of side draught carburettors. 103FXYSI - Same as the 100FXYS but comes with Aldon Ignitor electronic ignition system instead of points. 103FXR - Suitable for race specification X/Flow engines, detailed engine specifications are required. 103FXRS - Same as the 100FXR but features a distributor cap with H.T. leads coming out of the side instead of the top. 103TC - Non-vacuum distributor suitable for most twin cam engines from standard to virtually full race specification. 104FPY - Non-vacuum distributor suitable for Ford Pinto engines fitted with side draught carburettors and retaining the standard camshaft. 104FPR1 - Suitable for Ford Pinto engines fitted with side draught carburettors and a modified camshaft such as piper 270/285, Kent RL1, RL2, Burton 32, 33 or 40, 41 etc. 104FPR2 - Suitable for Ford Pinto engines fitted with twin chokedown draught carburettors together with a modified camshaft. 105FV1 - Non-vacuum distributor suitable for most tuned V6 engines, fitted with side draught carburettors but retaining the standard 'GT' camshaft.
